There is so much out there. I once started with simple shots trying to capture the Moon and Jupiter and Venus. That is quite easy with short exposure times. But some 7 years ago I got myself a simple tracking device to counter the Earths rotation. That was a cheap solution with a huge impact. Read my workshop under the menu item 'Photography'.

Over those past 7 years I learned that Astrophotography is a universe of its own and I came to respect the challenges. Now after having read a load of articles and having watched some 20-30 hours about the serious way to do this I have invested in a telescope on a real mount with real astro cameras and a guidance computer. The learning curve is quite steep and overwhelming but not insuperable.

So... I am far from an expert in astrophotography. But I do find gaps in explanations made by other websites/people and I gather the missing information thru various ways and collect that into the pages you find here on my site. This way I hope to clarify the complicated universe of astrophotography in a way to get anyone started.

This section of my website is newly launched on 19 February 2025. A lot of construction will be going on here. The nights may become shorter, no thanks to daylight savings time, but they will be inversely proportional interesting.
