My considerations on my choices of equipment

Well where to begin...

I've been in photography practically my whole life. I've attended one of the better photography academies the country had to offer back in the days and in the first year all the techniques passed by. Today, 45 years later, I still keep afloat on that knowledge.

Then the real deal serious astrophotography crossed my path, it hit me full speed and I was dragged back into infancy. This a a whole different kind of game. I know enough about optics to distinguish nice stuff and real stuff and nice stuff... well... isn't that nice actually. Not for me anyway. I want razor sharp images in high contrast without dispersions and comas. And details both in densities as in colours. Those humble demands come at a price in both time to find out about them as in money.

So in this menu tab you will find my choices and the reason(s) behind them.
It comes roughly to these groups:

  • Optics
  • Mount and guidence
  • Cameras
  • Software
