This is the nightsky with an average aurora appearence. I worked the contrasts in such a way that this image depicts reality as close as possible. This was shot at a moonless night at a new moon so there was even no moonlight coming over the horizon. If you are lucky your eyes will pick up the colour but that needs a fairly bright aurora which this one was still getting to be. So this is what you are about to see unless there is a lot of energy in space.
